“She was awesome, so in character, I wanted to take her aside and do a whole mini-photoshoot right then and there, you know how I do that sometimes, its when I’m really feeling in the groove, but there were so many other photographers I just patiently waited my turn. I LOVED her!” - Carol Gallagher- http://www.facebook.com/pages/DOWNTOWN-CAROLS-PHOTOGRAPHY-BY-CAROL-GALLAGHER/
There are nights I come home and wonder why I spend my time and money on modeling. Why I’ve kept trucking for the last two years with this LABOR of love when I’m not 5’10” or 115 lbs in an industry where that is the standard. As sad as it is, these standards are pouring over into Pin Up these days. As history has shown us, where the trends are, the sheep will follow… and when the sheep are younger, thinner, taller, more tattooed and willing to show a lot more in front of the camera for a ‘photographer’ than you are… it’s a little hard to shine. Very hard not to get down on yourself for it. Very easy to become negative and throw in the towel.
Then, I read things like this from talented photographers who only know me through a lens… and it helps me keep on truckin. Thank you so much Carol for your beautiful work, and your kind words. Sentiments like that remind me why I keep on keeping on.
