My Vargas shoot, was the shit. Mostly in part due to his awesome team, and my amazing Soda Pop. This is an UNEDITED shot… location is the Mai Kai in Ft. Lauderdale. I can’t wait until they come back, it was an amazing experience to work with them.
We managed to pull off 4 locations, 3 looks, and over 300 photos. Average is 2 looks, 3 locations and 200 photos. Not too shabby.
Now, who is going to help me pick which photos to edit?!
SUPER EXCITED! I’m prepping for an awesome shoot with Little Pet Project next week!
No spoilers, but there will be incredible pit lovies courtesy of Ashlie Burke and Pit Stop Bully’s Rescue! I can not put into words how exciting it is to work with these ladies and their fabulous causes. Here’s a sample of what happened last time I got to work with such amazing people (and pups!):

Hope you guys will like what we’re cooking up for this year’s event. We already have Little Darling, Shorty Rossi and Hercules on board! Stay tuned, and check into the following websites to keep your ears to the ground for what’s to come to the world of pin up in Tampa Bay March 2012!

“She was awesome, so in character, I wanted to take her aside and do a whole mini-photoshoot right then and there, you know how I do that sometimes, its when I’m really feeling in the groove, but there were so many other photographers I just patiently waited my turn. I LOVED her!” - Carol Gallagher- http://www.facebook.com/pages/DOWNTOWN-CAROLS-PHOTOGRAPHY-BY-CAROL-GALLAGHER/
There are nights I come home and wonder why I spend my time and money on modeling. Why I’ve kept trucking for the last two years with this LABOR of love when I’m not 5’10” or 115 lbs in an industry where that is the standard. As sad as it is, these standards are pouring over into Pin Up these days. As history has shown us, where the trends are, the sheep will follow… and when the sheep are younger, thinner, taller, more tattooed and willing to show a lot more in front of the camera for a ‘photographer’ than you are… it’s a little hard to shine. Very hard not to get down on yourself for it. Very easy to become negative and throw in the towel.
Then, I read things like this from talented photographers who only know me through a lens… and it helps me keep on truckin. Thank you so much Carol for your beautiful work, and your kind words. Sentiments like that remind me why I keep on keeping on.
I am sooooo at an impasse with tattoos. Not sure which direction to go! Have so many traditional style ideas and nowhere on my body they’d all make sense! I keep saving space for things I want but quite haven’t put my finger on yet. Like my realistic pin up, and my bowling tribute to Dad. Le sigh. Decisions are my nemesis, does not mix well with tattoos! Don’t want to be hasty since I’ve done pretty damn good until now.
I love when tattoos have meanings, and I’d say a good 80% of mine have a story with them. But they’re also art… so where do you draw the line between tattoos that look beautiful, and something that pertains specifically to you?
See what I do to myself? ;)
This week I am honored to be asked to close a Military inspired fashion show at Cars and Couture as… Rosie the Riveter! Such an iconic piece of American culture, and a great event to participate in. Check out the link for the Facebook event, it benefits Special Operations Warrior Foundation - www.specialops.org so come give back to those who give all!
